The untold story of Trivial Pursuit, from one of the guys who made it.

My Trivial Pursuits, a memoir by John Haney, co-creator of Trivial Pursuit.

My Trivial Pursuits is the definitive account of how a cardboard sketch from a smoky Montreal kitchen became one of the best-selling games ever.

This is the front-row view, dreamed up over pints, argued over in bars, and somehow finished before the tab came due.

Trivial Pursuit co-creators Scott Abbott, Chris Haney, and John Haney on a boat beside the Old Boat Works in Niagara-on-the-Lake, 1982.

Before Trivial Pursuit, John Haney was a benched goalie, a Danish slaughterhouse hand, a Stratford actor, and a house manager at the Shaw Festival.

In 1979 his brother Chris called with an idea for a board game, and the four of them, John, Chris, Scott Abbott, and Ed Werner, turned it into one that has since sold over 100 million copies. This is his story of how it happened.

"Like a lot of '80s kids, I had my brain rewired by Trivial Pursuit. Decades later, thanks to John Haney's book, I feel like I finally understand the beautiful minds behind the game."
